The project involves the construction of an elevated expressway from Skyway up to Roxas Boulevard, running mostly along existing roads (Sales Street, Andrews Avenue, Domestic Road and MIA Road). The project is proposed to be done in phases: Phase I - Skyway to NAIA Terminal III, 4 lanes, 3.67 Km; Phase II - NAIA Terminal III to Roxas Boulevard, 4 lanes, 4.9 km.
A Cargo terminal facility being a strategic component of airport operations is considered pivotal to the operation of NAIA Terminal 3, specifically in handling and processing the expected increase in cargo traffic and air cargo handling related services.
The objective is to develop a New International Cargo Terminal (NICT)consistent and in accord with the concurrent Airport Master Development Planning (MDP), considering the airside and landside aerodrome elements.
Sites considered as options are General Aviation Area (Site 1), Nayong Pilipino Site (Site 2); and the Hybrid Site which is an area covering adjacent areas of Sites 1 and 2(Site 3).
